This spacious but uninspired four bedroom “developer’s special” needed personalization that reflects my clients’ vibrancy and youth. I designed the space to be very relaxed, durable, and a pleasure to come home to—luxury without the fussiness. After reconfiguring the architecture, I went for an “easy glamour” effect by adding bold strokes of color, then I played classically- inspired furnishings against modern and judiciously deployed accents. The lacquered ceiling above the 30-by-16-foot living/dining space plays off the patterned rug underfoot. Custom bookcases and millwork accentuate the lively palette and furnishings, creating a confident and sophisticated result.
